Some
Frequently Asked Questions:
How
much should I charge for my Giclee prints?
A good rule of thumb we
like to use is at least 4x the cost. At the high end, Giclee
prints are generally under $1,500 unless you're a very well
known artist with work very much in demand.
Can
I scan or photograph my artwork myself?
Yes
and no. If you want to post the files on the web or make very
small prints, then high resolution and excellent value range
is not so critical. But if you want quality fine art prints
of any size the scans must be made with top of the line equipment
by very experienced personnel.
How
large can I make my prints?
ArtSource specializes in large format printing - offering
up to 60" on the short size and virtually any length on
a wide range of quality papers and canvas. With an excellent
scan, Giclee prints can often go 2 to 3 times the size of the
original. One limitation however is the material of the original
if painting style is transparent.
Can
I paint over the prints?
Yes, absolutely. ArtSource uses materials and coatings
that allow for virtually any additional media applications -
oil or water-based.
